Watercolor painting my top 10 books for 2022

Here are the books that I found to be most helpful when starting to paint with watercolor. I've also included some I consider to be needed when illustrating or painting no matter the medium, as lettering, composition and storytelling make part of a successful drawing.
As a bonus, in the end you'll find a few books I like as style and even one that shows you painting and drawing projects you can do with your kids. I hope you enjoy reading these books and take something new to apply to your watercolor painting journey.
- Painting Happiness: Creativity with Watercolors by Terry Runyan
This book was released on April 2022, but the author has been in the illustration business for quite a while. Inside you will find materials, techniques and dedicated projects for loosening up with watercolor. The best part of the book I find it to be the one where you have that pep talk about letting go of your inner critic and embracing the "perfect imperfections". I find it to be truly authentic, easy to follow for a beginner and a confidence builder. I highly recommend it if you are a beginner and if you're not just as a reminder of those tips and tricks with watercolor and fun new projects to try.
If you want to spice it up and add some other animals than cats and birds, the author has two other books with easy to draw animals "Draw 62 Animals" and characters "Draw 62 Characters".

This is a book dedicated to composition and natural elements.
It explains step by step how you can draw natural elements. Each chapter has it's own practice pages where you can draw inside the book itself.

I loved Ana Victoria Calderon's book because it gives you the key elements required to start your watercolor creative journey. Through beginner level tutorials and projects you will discover the basics of tools and materials and techniques for watercolor painting, scanning and digital editing, watercolor design painting.

I loved Alli Kochs beginner guide on how to draw flowers and my technique greatly improved from reading this book.
